Joanne Weber lost power at her home in Independence Township early Saturday and was still waiting for it to be restored Tuesday afternoon. After losing power around 1 a.m. Saturday, Weber, 57, of 463 Service Creek Road, used a kerosene heater to fight the cold.

We’re in the single digits now, ladies and gentlemen. I managed to finish a few more holiday items last week, despite a million other things going on. (Including a bake sale, for which I made a few of these cupcakes. Ya, they were a hit.) I finished cookie dough! oh yes. I also made too many trips to Michael’s and Joanne’s and was very creative about arranging the trips so I could use Joanne’s coupons at Michael’s and the Michael’s coupons from the register at Joanne’s. Exhausting, I know.
